Superior Levels of Accuracy and Performance in Video and Radar Detection: Autoscope® OptiVu and EPIQ RADAR™
ITS strategies depend on the multitasking capabilities of intelligent sensors. Econolite’s sensors count, classify, track, and differentiate vehicles. They also provide advanced detection for adaptive and dilemma zone safety programs, as well as pedestrian and bicycle detection. For modern multimodal roadways, Econolite takes traffic detection to the next level with Centracs® +Detect, the cloud-based analytics engine that transforms raw detection data into actionable insights. Centracs +Detect unlocks a whole new dimension of performance monitoring, without the need for extra hardware or installation.
Superior traffic detection accuracy and reliability
Autoscope OptiVu is engineered for providing unmatched video detection capabilities. The OptiVu system is built on a cutting-edge hardware platform that ensures superior performance but also positions the solution to support future ITS advancements. Autoscope OptiVu offers the most advanced detection algorithms with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning on the market. The camera and processor provide high-resolution vehicle detection, bicycle and pedestrian detection, enhanced traffic data collection in real time, and Smart City readiness with connectivity to other systems.
Latest in Superior traffic detection accuracy and reliability
EPIQ RADAR Sensors feature cutting-edge FMCW radar technology with a built-in 1080p camera streaming at 30 FPS. EPIQ RADAR delivers unmatched accuracy and reliability for every traffic scenario. EPIQ RADAR’s superior traffic detection accuracy and reliability across a variety of detection objectives, including advance, departure, dilemma zone, red light, bicycle, or pedestrian detection. Designed to cover two approaches and up to 900 feet (275 m) with a single sensor, it’s the ideal solution for complex intersections, reducing congestion and enhancing safety for everyone on the road.
Detection System Data Analytics and Reporting
EPIQ RADAR Hubs use advanced PLC to deliver 10/100 Ethernet connectivity to EPIQ RADAR sensors—up to 1,000 feet (300 m) away using a simple shielded AWG 14/2 cable. Using Quad-core i7 processing power, it delivers speeds of up to 88 Mbps, so detection data moves fast and reliably. The Hub then transforms this data into NEMA TS2 and ATC SDLC messages, ensuring seamless integration with your traffic controllers. Its new LCD touchscreen display provides real-time system feedback. The EPIQ RADAR Hub also easily integrates with various cabinet types and communication interfaces.
Detection System Data Analytics and Reporting
Autoscope® OptiVu and EPIQ RADAR™ detection systems are enhanced with the advanced, cloud-based data reporting, analytics, and monitoring capabilities of Centracs® +Detect. Based on data from Econolite’s sensors, +Detect provides key metrics and signal performance measures, such as road user classifications, volumes, speeds, and turning movements. With +Detect, users can automatically access and leverage key metrics to provide deep insights and superpowers to users and open up new realms of capabilities for traffic management and control.

Next-Generation Advanced Transportation Controllers: Cobalt® ATC Controller and EOS
Cobalt® is Econolite’s next-generation Advanced Traffic Controller (ATC) specifically designed for the expanding mobile computing environment. It’s powerful edge-computing power is ideal for dynamic ITS operations. Fully meeting ATC standards, Cobalt features a heavy-duty controller platform with a breakthrough hardened seven-inch touchscreen GUI matched with Linux-based OS that makes programming and access to functions the easiest in the industry. Cobalt controllers are also designed to be paired with EOS, Econolite’s breakthrough controller firmware.
Advanced Traffic Signal Controller Series
For the flagship Cobalt ATC controllers, Econolite released the next-generation Advanced Graphics Card, AGC2, to production. AGC2 includes a blazing fast processor and provide an order-of-magnitude increase in specs and performance, providing a tablet-like experience on the graphical UI and the capability to stream HD videos seamlessly. It is a leap forward in reliable and scalable control. We will also launch the next-generation Engine Board powering both our Cobalt and Linux-based 2070 controllers, which will provide a very significant boost to the specs and performance of Econolite’s controllers.
Industry Leading and Breakthrough Controller Software
EOS is Econolite’s breakthrough in ATC traffic signal controller software. Designed to power Econolite Cobalt and other standard ATC controllers, EOS version is ready to empower cities with new capabilities. EOS v.4 extends support up to 32 phases, 32 overlaps, and 128 detectors — and adds integration with the SCOOT adaptive control system. It means agencies can run more complex intersections. In addition, EOS’ full-feature virtual integration with PTV Vissim supports digital twin and simulation environments.
Comprehensive Planning and Simulation of Operations
Users of the Centracs Mobility – EOS – Vissim solution can leverage the digital twin capabilities of planning, simulation, and operations to create simulation models within PTV Vissim that communicate with full-feature virtual EOS controllers and connect to our optimization tools in Centracs Mobility. This provides end to end visibility and control for our customers to plan, analyze and optimize their roadways as part of a dynamic multimodal roadway management system.
